When the coronavirus first hit last year, Americans nationwide settled down at home, and the demand for gasoline plunged, and prices dropped. Last April, the national average for all grades of gas fell below $2 a gallon for the first time in over four years. However now as the pandemic chapter in our lives is slowly closing and daily life is returning to normal the price of gas is rising fast and steadily surpassing $2.68. And it's going to get worse: Fuel prices are expected to see a big spike in the next few weeks, followed by more increases all the way to summer.
